The long-anticipated debut LP from Vermont-based The Volcanos will be released on October 2, 2026. Recorded and mixed by Benny Yurco at his Little Jamaica Recordings and pressed at Burlington Record Pressing, the project is a wholly Vermont artist-community creation.

Led by Rob Voland, the band—Wren Kitz on drums, Noah Crowther on bass, and Tyler George-Minetti on guitar and lap steel—blends shimmering textures into a sound that is both intimate and electrified. Working within the loose structures of Voland’s compositions, The Volcanos channel raw improvisation into something new and atmospheric.

Vol. 1 serpentines its way through questions of longing, loneliness, and the gifts and burdens of intuition and aging, expressed through the raw language of dense, expressive, gritty guitar sounds. These are softened by George-Minetti’s lap steel, buoyed by the steady pulse of Kitz’s drums, and grounded by the low-end hum of Crowther’s bass. The contribution of each musician creates something greater than the sum of its parts—a kind of transporting alchemy.
